Like lilith she is one of the main goddesses of phoenicia. She was a great goddess, an embodiment of mother nature (? don't know if that is written well) She created, preserved, and destroyed because she represented the all these quality's of the power of nature. In the moonfase she stands for the virgin.
She was worshiped as a goddess of fertillity.

According to a legend, Astarte fell from the stars to the earth, and has been know as the queen of stars, venus of the morning or Morning star of heaven.

Another legend Is that she was the mother of all souls, the moon surrounded by her star children, to who she gave astral body's.

This piece didn't started out as goddess actually i was just playing with the liquid filter in photoshop because i was being a bit bored . Making bigger eyes, smaller nose and mouth, in fact doing no justice to the model before it started to look a bit good and before i knew i was playing with my nebulabrushes, and there she was.
I was thinking at andromeda but that didn't feel right so i did a little search in my books for moongoddess and when i read the story's about astarte i knew that she was the one
